Portsmouth continued their improved form last night with a 2-1 win over Northampton Town in the EFL Trophy at Fratton Park.
Pompey is now on a roll following a disappointing start to the campaign. Last night’s success was their sixth straight win in all competitions, and after weeks of calling for the head of manager Kenny Jackett, fans are once again eying a promotion bid.
It wasn’t all plain sailing for Kenny Jackett’s in-form men; they had to come from behind to beat a spirited Cobblers outfit to continue an impressive recent run in the competition. They have now only lost one of their last sixteen fixtures in the controversial tournament.
The result obviously delighted Micheal Eisner – club director and son of owner and Disney magnate Eric Eisner – who tweeted what many Portsmouth fans were thinking.
Eisner commented that much-improved Pompey now faces a massive test on Saturday when they entertain third-placed Peterborough on Saturday.
Pompey are currently in tenth, but in a tight League, they are only four points behind Posh having played a game less.
The game will be a massive test of Portsmouth’s promotion credentials but with Momentum building, the responses to Eisner’s tweet show clearly confidence and positivity are fast returning to the Pompey faithful.
Indeed..can’t afford to be tosh against The Posh!

Saturday Eric. Massive game. Win and Fratton will pulsate with positivity again and that's such a good feeling. 🤞

Yes, Massive test against strongest strikeforce in the league. This will be a test of defensive strength and will be a huge indicator of the ability of this side. Very much a statement game.

I agree with the team put out, gave Brett Pitman some game time and others who needed some. With a offensive style then Marquis is the guy to have, but when pushing Pitman is best in the mix.
