James Morrison
West Brom released Morrison at the end of last season after twelve years at The Hawthorns. He made three-hundred-and forty-one appearances for the Baggies, having a hand in seventy-six goals, scoring thirty-nine and assisting thirty-seven, many of them in the Premier League
Dogged by injury in his last couple of seasons, Morrison is now fit and raring to go. During the summer, the Scotland international was heavily linked with a move north of the border, but despite being mentioned as a possible target for Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs, Morrison remains without a club.
At thirty-three, the midfielder surely has something to offer in League One, provided he’s fully recovered from the injury problems that began when he limped off while playing for Scotland against England at Hampden Park in the summer of 2017.
Wages might be an issue, but even in this age of managers looking ever more towards youth, Morrison has got to be worth a punt.
