Irish centre-back Paudie O’Connor made it two goals in two matches this weekend for Bradford City as they beat Northampton Town 2-1 at Valley Parade.
The lively Cobblers side led from the 20th minute courtesy of a goal from Charlie Good, a position they held until the final 13 minutes.
Debutant Michael Harriman put through his own net to level the scores going into the last ten minutes. Then, with just two minutes of normal play left, Paudie O’Connor bagged to give his side the lead and ultimately, the win.
There was still time for Zeli Ismail to be sent off, but the Bantams held on for the win.
O’Connor, who also scored in their 1-1 draw with Bolton in midweek, only joined Bradford from Leeds United in the summer. He spent time on loan with Gary Bowyer’s side last season, before making it a permanent arrangement in the summer.
He’s certainly a popular character at Bradford, as their reaction on Twitter to his goal suggests.
