Our 3 predictions for Bolton Wanderers vs Bradford City

  • 1st prediction: Bolton Wanderers to win or draw
  • 2nd prediction: Over 2.5 goals in the game
  • 3rd prediction: Both teams to score

1st prediction for Bolton Wanderers vs Bradford City: Bolton Wanderers to win or draw – 2/9

This is a huge game in League One with both teams looking up the table. Bolton are resurgent after an underwhelming start to the season and are on the verge of the promotion places, while Bradford have surprised everyone following their promotion from League Two.

Bolton have endured a difficult few years in League One with several near misses as they look to get back to the second tier. They have really picked up lately and a win here would potentially put them in the automatic spots as they aim to avoid another play off campaign. Home advantage should help them to a favourable result here to continue to that end. The only issue for Bolton is that the international break may have halted momentum, but it will have also afforded them plenty of time on the training pitch.

Bradford have started the season incredibly following promotion, and they look seriously in with a shout of going up a second time. That being said, they are winless in six, so they will want to gain some momentum again. With that in mind, as well as Derby’s home advantage and incredible form, they are underdogs here.

2nd prediction for Bolton Wanderers vs Bradford City: Over 2.5 goals in the game – 2/3

This is likely to be an incredibly entertaining game, with both sides looking to stay towards the top of the table.

Added to that is the fact that both sides are still quite leaky despite good form, especially Bradford. Bolton have really found their shooting boots of late and Bradford are vulnerable, with lots of goals in their games of late . These factors, as well as the Bantams being the away side and likely to face plenty of pressure, means goals are are almost guaranteed.

Both teams know it will be a case of scoring more rather than conceding less than their opponents, which will create a pretty open game. Bolton may be inclined to sit back after scoring, but home advantage means they will go for it in front of their home crowd. Watford will see this vulnerability as an opportunity, though their own difficult spell will be a challenge for them.

3rd prediction for Bolton Wanderers vs Bradford City: Both teams to score – 8/13

This is a prediction which is mainly based on the defensive risks of the two sides rather than their qualities. Both sides have decent squads but have been defensively vulnerable this season though they have picked up lately. Part of the problem has been conceding unnecessary goals and not taking advantage of situations, especially for Bradford recently. This game looks to be similar, with both sides looking for a spot in the top two.

With both sides looking up the table rather than over their shoulders, a win here is crucial. The high stakes, leaky defences and good form make this an exciting encounter to look ahead to.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head

This is a massive game at this stage of the season as the two teams look firmly towards the top of the table. That applies particularly for Bolton, who will have the promotion places on their mind after a good run. A win and favourable results would see this happen here, as it would for Bradford. The away side have been in less strong form, with no wins in six, though a victory here would put them back on track. Whatever happens, there’s plenty riding on this one.
