Gary Bowyer began this season as a League One manager, but walked away from Blackpool for personal reasons. It was widely believed the turmoil behind the scenes had become so bad he couldn’t continue.
It’s a shame because he was doing a wonderful job there. His squad has got to within a whisker of the play offs and last season he had them knocking on the door too.
The question here isn’t whether Swindon want Bowyer, but whether he’s willing to risk his reputation on a job as tough as the one in Wiltshire.
