Long-suffering Bradford City fans have been dealt another blow today, with news that striker Sean Scannell has been ruled out until at least February,
The former Huddersfield striker has sustained a stress fracture in his back, meaning a visit to a spinal specialist next week to reveal the full extent of the injury, which is likely to keep him out until at least the end of January.
The 28-year old was last seen walking down the tunnel after being sent off against Sunderland, but he now won’t feature at all as the Bantams struggled desperately at the foot of League One.
They’re embroiled in a relegation battle, short on quality and belief. Changing their manager recently hasn’t helped as the spiral of despair simply keeps on swirling.
Their fans are already resigned to the fact League two could be beckoning, as some have expressed on Twitter this afternoon.
