Charlton Athletic have received yet more bad news as they look to remain in the chase for a top six place in League One this season.
They’ve not had the best of luck with injuries recently, but news has broken recently that West Ham’s on loan midfielder Josh Cullen is set to miss four months of the campaign. he needs immediate shoulder surgery that could rule him out until the beginning of March.
Cullen has settled well at the Valley and has shown himself to be a composed and accomplished midfielder with a cute eye for a pass and his input will be sorely missed.
“Josh needs an operation, so he’s going to be maybe three or four months from what I hear,” manager Lee Bowyer said. “Josh has done something to his bicep as well, The physio went a bit technical with me. He will be seeing a specialist in the next couple of days to go through stuff. The specialist might turn around and say it is only two months but the estimate at the moment is between three or four.”
The news has not been received well on social media, with fans bemoaning the club’s luck when it comes to injuries and bad luck. Their off field problems are well documented, but on the field it seems they’re attracting bad luck too.
Here’s a collection of their recent posts.
Best player seen at the Valley for a few years, massive blow for our promotion hopes at #cafc ! Such an intelligent footballer

Absolutely typical. Only signed to cover the loss of JFC, he's been immense and now he's out until March or whatever.
