Norwich City’s ownership have reaffirmed their support for head coach Liam Manning despite the club’s slide into the Championship’s bottom 3 after 8 defeats in 12 matches.
The Canaries’ 2-0 loss to Swansea City at the weekend extended their losing streak to 5 and left them 23rd in the table with just 8 points. It has sparked growing unrest among supporters, but reports suggest the board are standing by Manning and his staff.
Owners set to meet management team
According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, Norwich’s owners are expected to fly into the UK this week to hold talks with Manning and sporting director Ben Knapper. Those meetings are said to be focused on identifying solutions to turn around a season that has yet to meet expectations.

The club invested heavily over the summer following Manning’s arrival from Bristol City, paying compensation to secure his services after parting company with Johannes Hoff Thorup at the end of last season. That financial backing added to the sense of disappointment at Carrow Road as the team’s form has nosedived through the autumn.
“The owners are still backing Manning to succeed with the club,” Thomas reported via X. “They will travel to the UK to show their support and to discuss how they can turn their season around.”
Manning, 39, now faces a crucial week as Norwich prepare for a triple-header that could define his future. The Canaries host Hull City next weekend before travelling to Sheffield Wednesday and then returning home to face Leicester City.

Pressure builds on and off the pitch
Supporters have grown increasingly frustrated by the team’s performances, with many calling for change following Saturday’s defeat. Norwich have scored only 10 league goals since August and remain without a clean sheet in their last 5 outings.

Behind the scenes, both Manning and Knapper are understood to be under scrutiny. The sporting director oversaw the appointments of both Thorup and Manning, and further struggles could prompt questions about the club’s wider recruitment strategy.
Despite the poor start, sources close to the club believe the ownership’s willingness to travel and meet staff face-to-face underlines their commitment to stability rather than another mid-season overhaul. Norwich remain convinced that the foundations laid in pre-season can still deliver a turnaround if results begin to improve quickly.
For now, the focus turns to Hull’s visit to Carrow Road, where victory could lift Norwich out of the relegation zone and ease the pressure on Manning. Anything less, and the backing shown this week could soon be tested once again.
