Wrexham continue their search for consistency in midweek as they travel to face Leicester City.
Our Three Predictions For Leicester City vs Wrexham
- Prediction 1 – Kieffer Moore To Score – 19/10
- Prediction 2 – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 5/6
- Prediction 3 – Leicester City To Win – 19/20
First Prediction For Leicester City vs Wrexham – Kieffer Moore To Score – 19/10
The Welshman has been in great goalscoring form despite the poor form from Wrexham generally, and he could certainly continue it in this match. The former Ipswich Town man has been the standout performer for Phil Parkinson’s side throughout the season so far, and had perhaps his first average game of the season yesterday against Derby County. Sam Smith has not really shown his quality in the second tier so it will likely be Moore from the off again, who ranks in the top 10% of strikers in the Championships for shots attempted. With six goals in his last eight matches played, Moore is in fine form and can continue it away from home.
Second Prediction For Leicester City vs Wrexham – Over 2.5 Goals Scored – 5/6
Leicester City have not been outstanding with their attacking quality but nevertheless have found goals when they needed them. The Foxes have scored six times in their last five matches, lower than all the teams above them in the table currently, but their successes have been built on solid defensive performances, such as their clean sheets against Coventry City and Birmingham City in recent weeks. With the range of attacking talent Wrexham have, they should be able to repeat what teams like Oxford United have done and put multiple goals past this defence, which could spell a high-scoring game in this match.
Third Prediction For Leicester City vs Wrexham – Leicester City To Win – 19/20
Marti Cifuentes has set his side up excellently in recent weeks and surely they can continue this at home against a Wrexham side yet to fully find their feet in the second tier. The Foxes are yet to lose at home so far this season, but come up against Wrexham, who have won two of their first three road matches, most recently in that thriller away at Norwich City. Leicester have conceded just once at home all season. Marti Cifuentes’ side acre currently on a five-game unbeaten run and should be firm favourites to claim all three points in this contest.

Full Preview Of The Game: Last Results And Head-To-Head
Leicester City have had a solid start to the season and life under Marti Cifuentes, and sit in fifth place after seven games with three wins, three draws and just one loss to their name. That defeat was against Preston North End at Deepdale, and head into this game having drawn their last three games in a row by varying scorelines. It was West Bromwich Albion they faced last time out, being rescued from defeat in the final moments with Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s volley bouncing in off of a helpless Nat Phillips at the Hawthorns. The Foxes registered just one shot on target in that match, highlighting their worries without a standout number nine. There will be just two absences for Marti Cifuentes, with Harry Souttar still injured while Aaron Ramsey continues to serve his suspension.
Wrexham, meanwhile, are still adapting to life in the Championship, but it has not been plain sailing for the Racecourse Ground side. Early poor performances did briefly lead to speculation around Phil Parkinson’s future, but those conversations have since died down with a strong win away at Norwich City. They sit on eight points after seven matches in the league, with their weekend result being a score draw against Derby County. Lewis O’Brien scored for Wrexham to put them in front at home, but they were pegged back by Ben Brereton-Diaz. There are a few injury concerns for the Red Dragons to tackle, with Danny Ward still out due to a concussion and Liberato Cacace out with a hamstring issue.
Wrexham have beaten Leicester City just once in competitive history, claiming a 1-0 win in the 1976 League Cup. There hasn’t been a game between the two since 1982, playing out a goalless draw in the old Division Two. The return fixture in North Wales will be played in late January.
