Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Marcondes admits the club’s home form must improve as they prepare to face Wrexham at Carrow Road.
The Canaries are yet to record a home victory this season, a frustration that has become a recurring theme for Liam Manning’s side.
Carrow Road Becoming A Frustration
Norwich supporters have been left waiting for their team to deliver on familiar turf, with Carrow Road failing to provide the foundation expected of a promotion contender. The team’s struggles in Norfolk have raised questions about confidence and consistency, with points being dropped that could prove decisive later in the campaign.
Marcondes, who extended his contract in the summer and has become a vocal figure on and off the pitch, understands the frustration.
“A lot of people talk about this – the fact that we haven’t won at home yet,” he said. “It’s a great stadium we have and it should be a place where it is really hard to win as an away team. We need the place to be bouncing with us, to be positive. Especially against Wrexham, we need all of the momentum we can get.”

Player Balancing Act
The Danish midfielder has balanced football with off-field projects, recently carrying the Baton of Hope in a mental health initiative and completing a diploma with the Professional Footballers’ Association. That commitment to personal growth reflects his desire to find balance away from the game, but on the pitch his focus is clear – turning Carrow Road into the fortress it has long been.
“I understand it, but I also believe it’s going to be like that this season,” Marcondes added with optimism. “I’m excited to play Wrexham because I think they fit us in terms of how they play and how we want to play. I’m looking forward to celebrating with the fans after.”
Wrexham Provide The Test
The visit of Wrexham comes at a time when pressure is mounting for Norwich to make their home advantage count. Phil Parkinson’s side arrive with their own problems, sitting near the bottom of the Championship after promotion but continuing to score freely through Kieffer Moore. While Wrexham’s defensive record offers Norwich encouragement, Carrow Road’s recent history means nothing can be taken for granted.
Site Opinion
Norwich City’s inability to win at home has become the biggest obstacle to their ambitions this season. Away results have offered encouragement, but until they start making Carrow Road an unforgiving venue for opponents, doubts will linger.
Marcondes’ determination and Manning’s insistence on patience will count for little if the winless streak continues. Wrexham’s visit presents an opportunity to reset the narrative; fail again, and the anxiety surrounding Norwich’s home form will only deepen.
