Cohen Bramall has described new Luton Town winger Shayden Morris as ‘frightening’ after the deadline-day arrival made an immediate impression in Bedfordshire.
The Hatters secured the 23-year-old from Aberdeen, with the pacey wide man wasting no time in showing supporters exactly what he can offer.
Morris Makes Instant Impact
Morris, who lifted the Scottish League Cup with Aberdeen last season, was one of the club’s top summer targets. His switch was finalised in the final hours of the transfer window, with Luton sealing four additions before the deadline.
Supporters did not have to wait long for a glimpse of their new man. Just 24 hours after signing, Morris featured against Barnet in the Vertu Trophy. Coming on for the final half-hour, he twice tore past his marker, eventually winning a penalty after being clipped in full flight. He confidently converted the spot-kick himself to round off an impressive debut cameo.
Bramall, who knows all about raw speed himself, admitted he was excited to see how his new team-mate will trouble League One defenders this season.
“I played against Shay before when he was at Fleetwood and he’s always been sharp, but he’s electric, I think you’ll see a lot more of Shay. That’s his game, we just give him the ball and let him run with it. He is frightening, I haven’t seen someone that sharp in a long time, and he’s got legs, he can gallop. I’m excited to see him and I’m buzzing that he won the penalty and took the penalty.”

Bloomfield’s New-Look Squad
Manager Matt Bloomfield, who took charge in 2024, has overseen significant change at Kenilworth Road this summer. Fourteen players have been added to the squad as Luton aim to make a swift return to the Championship after last season’s relegation.
The addition of Morris underlines Bloomfield’s desire to inject pace and direct attacking threat into the side. With Bramall and Morris now offering explosive speed down the flanks, Town appear well-equipped to stretch opposition defences throughout the campaign.
The Hatters’ recruitment drive has placed them among the bookmakers’ fancied clubs for promotion, and early signs suggest the new arrivals will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stay in League One is short-lived.
Writer’s View
Morris looks like a signing capable of lifting the entire Luton squad. His direct running and composure under pressure offer a new dimension, while Bramall’s glowing endorsement highlights the excitement within the camp.
Supporters have already had a glimpse of his talent, and if he maintains that standard across the league season, he could prove one of the standout deals of the summer. For a club intent on bouncing back quickly, Morris might be the X-factor they need.
