MK Dons forward Callum Hendry insists the mood behind the scenes at Stadium MK has improved since Paul Warne’s appointment, according to The MK Citizen.
Warne took charge in April as MK were looking over their shoulders at the relegation battle below them.
Disastrous Season For Promotion Hopefuls
Last season was one to forget for fans of MK Dons as the club battled in the lower reaches of League Two having been the losing playoff semi-finalists the previous season.
With high hopes of promotion at the start of the campaign, Mike Williamson left the club for Carlisle United when he was on the verge of the sack and was replaced by Scott Lindsey.
Lindsey was the manager who knocked Williamson’s side out of the playoffs the previous season and left League One Crawley Town to take the reins in Milton Keynes.
The former Derby County boss Warne was appointed in April in what was perhaps a surprise to some as he dropped straight from the Championship to the foot of League Two.

Warne Brings The Feel Good Factor
With all of the comings and goings and poor form of last season, it is little wonder that the mood around the club was not one of great positivity.
Striker Callum Hendry feels Warne has given the club a lift and is cultivating a more positive culture.
“The gaffer has made a really good culture at the club now.”
“We’re all pushing in the right direction.”
When discussing the difference between last season and this pre-season, Hendry couldn’t find any comparison.
“It’s dramatically different, and it had to be. Last year was not good enough, the culture was not good. Everyone inside the club knows that, and it’s just a different feel and it feels good.”
The League Two season is just a few days away with MK opening up against newly promoted Oldham Athletic, and Hendry believes the shift in atmosphere will stand the club in good stead.
“This is how I should be as a footballer. My dad and my missus will tell you, I play better when I’ve got a smile on my face, and I’ve enjoyed it this summer.”
“The boys are brilliant, the staff are great, but we really have to take it into next week.”
Writer’s View
With the serial promotion winner Warne at the helm, MK Dons are expected to be amongst the front-runners in League Two.
The pressure will be on the manager and players to perform and a positive atmosphere within the club is vital to that happening.
