Birmingham City have entered the race to sign Bojan Miovski, competing with Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers for his signature.
The North Macedonian striker, who played for the City Football Group-owned Girona last season, has been tipped for a return to Scotland with either of the Old Firm rivals, following his successes at Aberdeen in the past few years. He made just 17 appearances in La Liga last season, with former Middlesbrough man Christhian Stuani the trusted first choice in Catalonia.
Blues Enter Battle
According to reports in his homeland, Miovski now has another option on the table should he decide to move on from Girona in Birmingham City as they look to continue their resurgence under Chris Davies. The St. Andrew’s side have already invested in new strikers, including a fellow former Scottish Premiership star in Kyogo Furuhashi, who is set to partner Jay Stansfield up front following the sale of Alfie May to Huddersfield Town.
Places remain in the Blues’ potential frontline for next season with the loss of May and the retirement of Lukas Jutkiewicz, on top of a short-term injury for Tyler Roberts following his return from loan at Northampton Town. Other names of potential signings have floated around across the window, including Jamie Vardy, who Birmingham were gearing up to make a move for, according to Football Insider last week.
Miovski has 33 international appearances to his name for North Macedonia, scoring eight times and has had prolific spells at both Aberdeen and former club MTK Budapest. However, having only played 20 minutes across the last eight La Liga games he was available for, the 26-year-old may not have a long-term future at Girona.

This reported emergence of Birmingham City as a potential destination for Bojan Miovski may throw a spanner in the works of both Celtic and Rangers’ plans. Whilst the Hoops, under former Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers, have been weighing up a move for the striker even during his time at Aberdeen, the prospect of a new challenge in a new league with the Blues may throw that interest into jeopardy. However, heading to the West Midlands does not ensure game time with both Jay Stansfield and Kyogo Furuhashi likely starters heading into this campaign. Whilst the sensible move would be to return to the SPFL, a chance of Championship football may keep Miovski from leaping at that chance.
