Former Lincoln City Man Secures European Move

Former Lincoln City defender Timothy Eyoma has left England to join the Belgian second-tier side Lommel SK and has signed a two-year deal, according to the club’s official website.

Eyoma last played for Northampton Town in League One.

Impressive Trial Period

Eyoma, known as TJ during his time in England, left Northampton Town after a short spell with the Cobblers, appearing 27 times as Kevin Nolan’s aide managed a 19th-place finish.

Following his departure from Sixfields, the defender has been on trial with the Flemish club and has featured for them during pre-season, including the match against Raków Częstochowa.

Eyoma has impressed the Lommel hierarchy, with the sporting director Jeffrey van As saying,

“Timothy performed excellently during his trial.“

“From day one, he showed he really wanted to stay, and that’s exactly the attitude we like to see.”

“On top of that, Timothy brings great ability on the ball. We’re looking forward to welcoming him back into the group and seeing him play!”

That trial has earned the 25-year-old a two-year contract, and he will now join the squad in their preparations for the season’s opening fixture against RDWM Brussels on August 9th.

Eyoma Delighted To Secure Move

TJ Eyoma was, for the most part, an impressive performer during his time with Lincoln City and played a key role as Michael Appleton guided the Imps to the brink of Championship football in 2021.

Following his release by City in 2024, Eyoma suffered a frustrating few months as he went in search of a new employer before joining the Cobblers.

The versatile defender hasn’t had to wait long to find a new contract this summer, and he is determined to help the club achieve its ambitions.

“I’m delighted to commit myself to Lommel SK on a permanent basis.”

“The trial period showed me how professional the club is and how close-knit the squad feels. I want to thank the coaches, staff and the club for their trust, and I can’t wait to fight for our supporters at the Soevereinstadion.”

“Together we’ll give everything to achieve our ambitions!”

Eyoma will now face the likes of Beerschot, K. Lierse SK and a number of second teams such as Genk U23s and Anderlecht Futures.

Writer’s View

This is a fascinating move for Eyoma as he joins former Sunderland manager Lee Johnson at the Belgian club. His willingness to take possession, coupled with his athleticism, will stand him in good stead for his European adventure.
