Snoop Dogg is set to become the face of a new Swansea City documentary series aimed at rivalling Wrexham’s global success story.
The rap legend and new co-owner of the Championship side could feature prominently in a behind-the-scenes “Doggumentary” designed to take the Swans’ international profile to new heights.
Swansea Plot Global TV Play With Star Co-Owner
Fresh from unveiling the club’s 2025–26 home kit and confirming his minority ownership stake, Calvin Broadus, better known as Snoop Dogg, is at the heart of Swansea City’s push to become football’s next breakout media brand. The project is reportedly being developed by the club’s American ownership group, who believe Snoop’s charisma and global recognition could propel Swansea into the spotlight.
The idea is inspired by the rise of Wrexham under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, but Swansea’s ambition is to go bigger. The club has already embraced the rapper’s arrival with a mural inside the Swansea.com Stadium and an extensive promotional campaign. A docuseries would offer viewers exclusive access to the club’s inner workings, covering training, boardroom decisions, and Snoop’s personal involvement with the team and city.
The concept is already being referred to internally as the “Doggumentary,” a nod to Snoop’s 2009 album and a tongue-in-cheek swipe at Wrexham’s established series.
Snoop, speaking about his investment, said:
“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me. I’m proud to be part of Swansea City.”

Ownership Group Confident in Snoop’s Commercial Impact
Swansea’s co-owners Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen have made it clear that Snoop’s role will be far more than symbolic. With over 100 million followers across social media platforms, his involvement is expected to attract commercial opportunities and grow the club’s reach.
“To borrow a phrase from Snoop’s back catalogue, this announcement is the next episode for Swansea City as we seek to create new opportunities to boost the club’s reach and profile,” they said in a joint statement. “Snoop’s colossal global fanbase and audience will certainly help us do that.”
Writer’s View
Swansea City are not just aiming to follow the Wrexham blueprint, they are setting their sights on surpassing it. In Snoop Dogg, they have a globally recognised icon with mainstream appeal, commercial clout, and a genuine enthusiasm for football. A documentary project feels inevitable and, if done right, could draw huge attention to a club already rebuilding its on-field ambitions under new leadership.
This is smart business by Swansea’s board and a sign that the club is thinking far beyond League One or Championship survival. Whether or not the team can match the hype with results, one thing is clear, everyone will be watching.
