Bolton Wanderers are weighing up a move for North Macedonia international striker David Toshevski following his exit from Austria Klagenfurt.
The 24-year-old is a free agent after scoring ten goals across two clubs last season in Austria and Croatia.
Bolton Consider Free Agent Toshevski to Bolster Promotion Bid
Bolton are among a cluster of British clubs interested in free agent Toshevski, who is available this summer after leaving Austria Klagenfurt following their relegation from the Austrian Bundesliga.
The 6ft 2in striker netted six goals in 23 appearances for Klagenfurt before spending the latter half of the campaign on loan at Croatian outfit HNK Šibenik, where he added three more in 16 outings. That form has now put him on the radar of clubs across the EFL, including Bolton, who are once again targeting promotion from League One.
Toshevski made his senior international debut for North Macedonia earlier this year against Liechtenstein, and has previously featured for his country at every youth level from Under-17 to Under-21.
Originally developed at Rabotnički Skopje, Toshevski moved to Russian side FC Rostov in 2020 on a five-year deal, though he made only nine appearances before a series of loan spells in Russia, Poland, Slovakia, and Croatia. His nomadic early career appears to have shaped a more robust, physical centre-forward, now seeking stability and a club that can offer consistent game time.
The Trotters are keen to strengthen their forward line after narrowly missing out on the play-offs last season. They have already dipped into the Austrian market this summer with the signing of Barbados international Thierry Gale from Rapid Vienna, and a move for Toshevski would represent a continuation of that recruitment strategy.
With a record of 11 senior goals in 59 appearances and fresh from international recognition, Toshevski would bring added height and power to the Bolton frontline. His free agent status makes him an attractive option for clubs seeking value later in the window.

Writer’s View
David Toshevski is an intriguing option for a League One side with promotion ambitions. At 24, he’s still developing but has built a varied CV across European leagues and now has a senior international cap to his name. His time in Austria and Croatia suggests he’s coming into form, and Bolton’s interest shows a clear intent to add physical presence up top.
For a club with automatic promotion ambitions, Toshevski could be a low-risk, high-upside signing, especially if Steven Schumacher believes he can be moulded into a reliable goalscorer in England’s third tier. Expect movement if no Championship club jumps in first.
