Plymouth Argyle have been hit by a double exit, as more backroom staff leave for Germany.
The short-lived Muslic era has come to a close in more ways than one. Following the club’s relegation to League One, Muslic took the reins at Schalke and has wasted little time reuniting with key staff from his Argyle tenure.
Adin Osmanbasic and Eddie Lattimore, who both arrived at Home Park midway through the 2024/25 campaign from Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge, have now joined Muslic at the Gelsenkirchen-based side. Their exits mark the final chapter in Muslic’s brief but memorable tenure at Argyle.
The pair were instrumental behind the scenes during a turbulent period in Plymouth’s season. Osmanbasic has since expressed his gratitude on social media, stating:
“Today, my time at Argyle came to an end. I want to thank all of the incredible players, staff, and supporters involved with the club. I’ll continue to support from afar. I wish nothing but success for the club and its new staff. I am sure Argyle will return to where it belongs!”
Meanwhile, Lattimore’s departure makes way for a new backroom team under recently appointed head coach Tom Cleverley. Former Torquay United midfielder Damon Lathrope has come in as assistant head coach, with Matt Bevans and Chris Douglas joining as first team coach and analyst respectively.
Bevans, who helped Watford’s U18s reach the FA Youth Cup semi-finals last season, links up again with Cleverley after their stint at Vicarage Road. Their success at youth level, including wins over Tottenham and Southampton, underlines the forward-thinking approach being taken at Home Park.

The swift relocation of Osmanbasic and Lattimore to Schalke was always a likely outcome once Muslic was confirmed as head coach there. This kind of staff migration is typical in modern football, especially when mutual trust and shared philosophies exist. Argyle now enter a new chapter under Tom Cleverley with a fresh support team, and with stability off the pitch key to success, early cohesion will be vital.
The club has moved quickly to rebuild behind the scenes, and that could prove crucial as they look to bounce back from relegation. With Muslic already setting his stamp on Schalke, and Cleverley doing the same at Argyle, the next few months will be telling for both clubs.
