Huddersfield Town have submitted a £2.5 million bid to try and sign Leyton Orient‘s Ethan Galbraith amid links to the Championship.
The Northern Irish midfielder was one of many standouts for Richie Wellens’ side across the season, with six goals and six assists in a season that ended in playoff defeat at the hands of London rivals Charlton Athletic at Wembley. The 24-year-old has spent two seasons at Brisbane Road since joining on a free from Manchester United following a successful loan spell at Salford City in 2023.

Galbraith has been a man in demand for many Championship clubs since the end of the season, with Swansea City and Sheffield United’s interest being documented by a report from Football Insider. The Addicks have also been in touch with Orient for his services, with the club rejecting a reported £1.5 million bid earlier this week.
According to Alan Nixon via his Patreon page, Huddersfield have now made their interest known with a staggering £2.5 million bid submitted, which could see Leyton Orient earn even more in add-ons. Town, who are now managed by a former Manchester United player in Lee Grant, have gone full throttle with their transfer business, with Joe Low, Sean Roughan and Ryan Ledson all joining on free transfers.
Galbraith has been known for his versatility, playing from right back for the majority of the season but has played as far forward as attacking midfielder this campaign. he played in 39 of Orient’s 46 matches of the regular League One season, and has established himself as a regular for his national side over the past 12 months.

It is a remarkable move for Huddersfield Town to make considering how high up interest for Ethan Galbraith has gone. Sheffield United and Swansea City are two Championship challengers who both have their benefits as sides which could make a mark next season. Town and owner Kevin Nagle have already signed outstanding talents like Sean Roughan from Lincoln City and Ryan Ledson from Preston North End on a free, so for them to throw this amount of money around is a statement of intent following last season’s disappointment. They are certainly the team to beat so far in League One and could become even stronger if this deal goes over the line.
