Hull City has been linked with a move for John Lundstram as his future in Turkey looks uncertain, according to a report.
The Tigers are looking for reinforcements in their midfield ahead of a summer of change, with both Gustavo Puerta and Steven Alzate tipped for moves away following a disappointing season under both Tim Walter and Ruben Selles, but narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship.
Lundstram Could Return To England
Lundstram made his name in England with Oxford United and Sheffield United before later moving to Rangers. He left Glasgow last summer for the Turkish Super Lig, joining Trabzonspor. He played 32 times in the league for the seven-time champions, who finished seventh.
According to reports in local outlet Karadeniz Gazete, Lundstram is set to be dropped from manager Fetih Takke’s plans and could have his contract terminated this summer. Tigers owner Acun Ilicali, who is also a senior figure at Fenerbahce, is expected to approach Lundstram should Trabzonspor release him.
Turkey is a key market that the East Yorkshire side has focused on, with Kayserispor manager Sergej Jakirovic the leading candidate to replace Ruben Selles. Turkish newspaper DHA has stated that the Bosnian has agreed a deal in principle to join City, with a wage of £2 million per year.

Writers’ View
John Lundstram’s quality is known, being one of the unlikely standouts for Sheffield United’s first season back in the Premier League. He has performed admirably for Trabzonspor this season, but with his future looking doomed in the Middle East, a move back to England looks likely. He would be a great fit at Hull City and could pair well with Steven Alzate should the Colombian stay amid links to Valencia and Getafe. Other targets in midfield could include former loanee Tyler Morton, who looks to be on his way out of Premier League champions Liverpool.
