Offer Rejected In Preston North End Player Chase

Preston North End have had their bid to sign Hull City‘s Cody Drameh rejected, according to a report.

Hull City’s relegation has seen many Championship sides try and poach their best players, with relegation release clauses likely leading to cheaper deals for prospective targets. Players like Gustavo Puerta and Steven Alzate both being linked with moves away in the past week.

Drameh Bid Rejected Again

Cody Drameh has been a figure of interest for a few Championship clubs, with the former Leeds United man joining The Tigers on a free transfer last summer. He played 29 times at full-back this season, but struggled for minutes under the now-sacked Ruben Selles, particularly in the final stretch of the season.

His status has put both Derby County and Preston North End on high alert, and now bids have been rejected from both clubs for his services. Whilst Derby’s loan offer came earlier in the week, Sky Sports revealed that the Deepdale side have now suffered the same fate.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side look set to lose their versatile loanee Kaine Kesler-Hayden to another club as they are unlikely to enter the bidding war between Coventry City and Southampton.

It is believed that both The Rams and North End will come back with improved offers, with Hull willing to sell the 23-year-old for the right price.

A mass exodus of players is to be expected at Hull City and Cody Drameh looks to be set to join that list. Whilst Acun Ilicali is fending off the initial interest, it is expected that both Derby County and Preston North end will come back to the table. For The Lilywhites, Drameh will be a good swap for the outgoing Kaine Kesler-Hayden as they both can play on both flanks, albeit that the Aston Villa loanee could be a more aggressive option going up the pitch. Nevertheless, it will be a great deal for Hull, as they are guaranteed to turn a profit on a player they signed on a free just 12 months ago.
