Peterborough United are on the brink of completing a deal for Braintree Town‘s rising star Kyrell Lisbie, sources close to the club have revealed.
The 21-year-old forward has turned heads in the National League this season, notching 11 goals and providing two assists in a campaign that has cemented his reputation as one of non-league football’s brightest attacking prospects.
From the Isthmian to the Posh: A meteoric rise
Lisbie, son of former Charlton and Ipswich striker Kevin Lisbie, has enjoyed a remarkable journey up the English football pyramid. After spells with West Ham United and Watford at youth level, he transitioned into non-league football, representing Woodford Town, Welling United, and Cray Valley Paper Mills.
At Cray Valley, he bagged 29 goals in 44 appearances and famously scored against League One Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup, showcasing his ability on a bigger stage. His performances earned him a move to Braintree last summer, where he continued to impress despite the leap across four divisions.
