Hull City are reportedly set to rival Millwall and Blackburn Rovers for the signature of experienced QPR defender Morgan Fox as the Championship season draws to a close.
Selles Targets Defensive Reinforcements
With Fox out of contract at Loftus Road this summer, interest in the 31-year-old is intensifying. The versatile Welsh international has impressed in the second half of the season under Marti Cifuentes, operating both as a left-back and a central defender. His ability to offer cover in multiple roles appeals to Hull head coach Ruben Selles, who is looking to reshape his squad during a pivotal transfer window.
Fox has made 24 appearances for QPR this term, most of them in the heart of the back line, having returned from a spell on the sidelines before Christmas. He has also been offered fresh terms by Rangers, though an agreement is yet to be finalised — opening the door for potential suitors.
Hull’s need for left-sided defensive depth is no secret. The Tigers have struggled for consistency in that department throughout the campaign and are eager to strengthen, regardless of which division they find themselves in next season.
Blackburn Rovers and Millwall are also said to be monitoring Fox’s situation. With over 100 appearances each for Charlton Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday, and nearly 80 for Stoke, Fox brings with him a wealth of Championship experience. He’s also featured 46 times for QPR since his 2023 arrival, adding further credibility to his status as a proven performer at this level.
As Hull prepare for a crucial final-day clash, their off-pitch preparations are clearly accelerating. Whether they can beat out rival interest for Fox’s signature could depend heavily on their Championship status come the summer.
