Rangers could be bracing themselves for a summer of transfer interest after it emerged that midfielder Nicolas Raskin is attracting serious attention from top-flight sides across Europe, as well as Leeds United.
The 24-year-old has impressed with his all-action displays for the Ibrox club and is now firmly on the radar of clubs in the Premier League, including Aston Villa and Brentford.
Reports suggest the Belgian international has been watched extensively during the international break and has now become a hot property in the summer transfer market.
Rangers brace for bids as interest spikes
Raskin has been one of Rangers’ standout performers since arriving from Standard Liege in January 2023 for just over £1.3million. With 39 appearances so far this season, including eight in the Europa League, he has played a key role in the club’s campaign both domestically and on the European stage.
His rise has not gone unnoticed. Following his recent full debut for Belgium – where he received a standing ovation – scouts from England, Germany and Italy were reportedly in attendance. Aston Villa and Leeds are both keen, while Brentford have also registered interest in recent months.
Rangers, however, will not let their midfield star go cheaply. It’s understood that the Glasgow side have slapped a price tag of more than £20million on Raskin, whose contract runs until 2027. With strong performances in Old Firm derbies and notable games in Europe against the likes of Manchester United and Fenerbahçe, the club are confident of commanding a high fee.
Since arriving in Glasgow, Raskin has developed into a combative presence in midfield, regularly posting strong numbers for tackles and duels won. He has two goals and six assists this season, building on a solid debut campaign last term.
With promotion-chasing Leeds monitoring his situation closely, and Villa looking to strengthen their midfield depth for a European push of their own, the summer window could turn into a bidding war for one of the Scottish Premiership’s most consistent performers.

Writer’s view
Nicolas Raskin’s rise has been rapid, and Rangers are now in a strong position to profit. With a long contract and growing international pedigree, the club can demand a premium – and rightly so. His mix of grit and guile makes him well-suited to English football, and if Villa or Leeds come calling, it may simply come down to who is prepared to meet Rangers’ valuation first. Either way, the Belgian’s days in Glasgow may be numbered.
