Bristol City Coach Expects Fiesty Millwall Encounter

Bristol City coach Chris Hogg expects to have a hard-fought battle with Millwall as both sides target a play-off place.

The Robins are in an advantageous position heading into their game in hand on the sides around them, and could end the day level on points with sixth place should they claim a win over the South London side.

“Have To Earn The Right”

Speaking to Bristol Live, City’s assistant head coach Chris Hogg expects his side to have to show grit to overcome Alex Neil’s side who are fresh off of their defeat to London rivals Crystal Palace in the last sixteen of the FA Cup.

“For us, it’s a really good challenge and it’s more so, being us and trying to do us again there. Have our impact on the game, show what type of team we want to be and show what we’ve been working towards throughout these months. It’s one we should be looking forward to.

“Obviously the difference between one point and three points speaks for itself,” he continued. “It would be nice, but again, it doesn’t come if you don’t have the platform of the performance. You have to earn the right, especially going to Millwall.

“We have to earn the right through the fight, the scrap, the endeavour and the sheer will to try and scrape something from the game. Then hopefully go and show our qualities with the football.”

Bristol City need to keep up their pace with the top six and keep their advantage in the chase for a play-off position this season. This game is going to be a tricky and physical game for them to navigate, but Liam Manning’s side have the advantage of a longer rest due to Millwall’s cup commitments. Alex Neil’s side are also firmly in the mix with a win taking them to five points behind West Bromwich Albion in sixth place.
