Alex Timossi Andersson has spoken about Stoke City’s interest in signing him during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old winger, who can also play as a right wing-back, was linked with a move to the Championship club, but ultimately, no deal was reached, and he remains at IF Brommapojkarna for the time being.

In an interview with Fotbollskanalen, Andersson confirmed that Stoke City did indeed express interest in him during the winter market, but he refrained from elaborating on why a transfer did not materialise. Despite the lack of a move, he expressed his appreciation for the interest from the Potters.
“It’s obviously nice that there’s interest, but I just try to focus on football all the time and where I’m at right now and not try to get away from it. I’m still at BP and it feels damn good now at the beginning of the season,” said Andersson.

Future Move Still Possible
When asked whether Stoke City might pursue him again in the future, Andersson remained optimistic. He stated, “We’ll have to see. I hope so,” indicating that he is open to a move to the Championship club at some point down the line. The Swedish winger also noted that he doesn’t believe IF Brommapojkarna would stand in the way of a potential sale if the right offer came in.
“Yes, of course. I don’t think BP would have been averse to it either. But now there hasn’t been enough concrete interest so it can become something. But of course, it would have been great fun to play at such a big club,” Andersson added, making it clear that he would relish the opportunity to move to a club like Stoke City.
What’s Next for Stoke City?
Stoke City will likely keep an eye on Andersson’s progress in Sweden, and with the summer transfer window approaching, they may return to make a move for the versatile player. If the Potters are still interested, they could find themselves in a better position to secure his services with more concrete interest developing as the season progresses.

Alex Timossi Andersson’s comments suggest he is eager for a move to a club like Stoke City in the near future. The winger’s versatility and experience, including his time at Bayern Munich’s academy, make him an appealing target. If Stoke City are serious about pursuing Andersson in the summer, they could benefit from his enthusiasm and desire to take the next step in his career, as well as the potential for IF Brommapojkarna to be open to a sale.
