Sheffield United are unwilling to sell striker Louie Marsh this window as Premier League clubs circle according to a report.
The 20-year-old has been on the fringes of Chris Wilder’s side this season, with three appearances since returning from Doncaster Rovers over the summer. He played in The Blades’ two EFL Cup and solitary FA Cup matches this season, scoring against Wrexham in the first round of the former competition.
Blades Fending Off Interest
According to TBR Football and Graeme Bailey, Sheffield United will not sell Marsh this window following multiple links to Premier League sides this window. Four top-flight sides in Everton, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Southampton have all been named as interested parties.
It is believed that Marsh will instead head down a division to League One for a short loan spell, with multiple third-tier sides, including Stockport County and Huddersfield Town being interested in completing a deal.
Marsh had been a regular in the matchday squad for United, but with two forward signings over the past week in former Stoke City man Tom Cannon and the return of Ben Brereton Diaz, he did not have a place when The Blades were beaten by Hull City in their last game.
Writer’s View
Sheffield United have a lot of faith in Louie Marsh so selling him would not be a wise option. He is already an England Under-20 international and giving him an opportunity on loan again will be a great marker of how he has developed whilst being around the senior squad. Stockport are a standout opportunity for him to head to if their interest is to be believed, with The Hatters still on the lookout to replace Louie Barry. A move to the Premier League would also see him go out on loan so he should stick with The Blades and aim to get a new contract in the near future.
