Southend United are actively pursuing three transfer targets in a bid to reinforce their squad, with manager Kevin Maher optimistic about completing deals.
The Shrimpers, who are preparing to face AFC Fylde tonight, are targeting a striker, a National League South midfielder, and another player currently at a National League club.

“It’s good. We’ve got irons in the fire and hopefully one or two things aren’t too far away,” said Maher. “We’ve highlighted what we want and what we think we need. If we can get them then I think it will put us in a strong position. It’s not always easy to get them over the line but hopefully we’ll be able to do that.”
