Leeds United have reportedly made an opening bid of €20 million (£17 million) for RC Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov, according to French outlet TopMercato.
The offer is expected to be rejected, but it could pave the way for further negotiations as the Whites seek defensive reinforcements in January.
Leeds Target Khusanov to Strengthen Defence
Khusanov, 20, has been a standout performer for Lens in Ligue 1 this season, making 13 appearances and cementing his position as a first-choice option in the heart of their defence. His performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, including Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, with Leeds emerging as a surprise suitor.
Nicknamed a ‘monster’ for his imposing presence and defensive capabilities, Khusanov has also drawn attention from Manchester City, Leicester City, and Paris Saint-Germain.
