They have only managed one clean sheet at home in their last six, so that will give hope to a Gills side that have struggled to find the net on multiple occasions in games away, but do keep the scoreboard ticking over by averaging a goal a game overall, but only six scored from their 10 away days.

This could be the best way for Gillingham to get anything from the game against a very resolute Dons side. Having said that they have only drawn twice away, so they are either a do or die team on the road. Their last away draw was at the back end of October when they managed a 1-1 stalemate at Swindon Town. Wimbledon have only lost twice at home, and drawn three times, twice in the last two games. They have an uncanny knack of making games more difficult than they should be, and this ends up with battling performances to salvage something. Manager Johnnie Jackson knows a win here will put his side in a fairly unique position, their destiny in their own hands in terms of promotion. They have been on the fringes of the playoff places most of the season, but after a sequence of results both for his team and around the division, they could well be in the box seat come January, and then it will be how they all react to this new pressure that could see the difference.
For Mark Bonner it is very much a case of hang in there and see what happens.
