His departure was widely criticised, with Frank Lampard subsequently taking charge of the Championship side.
Millwall’s chairman, James Berylson, has outlined the club’s vision for its next head coach, emphasising alignment with long-term goals both on and off the pitch. Robins’ managerial career began with Rotherham United and has included stints at Barnsley, Huddersfield Town, and Scunthorpe United. At Coventry, he enjoyed two spells in charge, first from 2012 to 2013 and then from 2017 until last month. He led the Sky Blues to two promotions and a memorable EFL Trophy win during his time at the club.
As a player, Robins made his mark at Manchester United, famously scoring a crucial goal against Nottingham Forest in the 1989-90 FA Cup.
