Fulham Lead Hunt For Blackpool Sensation

Fulham and Stockport County are reportedly leading the race to sign Blackpool’s promising teenage midfielder Gabriel Schluter, according to Football Insider.

The 16-year-old has impressed with his performances for Blackpool’s academy sides, catching the attention of both Premier League and League One clubs.

Fulham Hunting Blackpool Teenager

Fulham, currently tenth in the Premier League, are eager to secure Schluter’s signature, with the London club having already submitted a bid for the teenager. The Cottagers have been tracking the midfielder’s progress, and his potential has not gone unnoticed by Marco Silva’s side. Schluter has shown his ability to perform under pressure, as demonstrated in his recent first-team debut for Blackpool in the EFL Trophy against Liverpool’s U21 team. Despite the 0-0 draw, Schluter impressed in his nine-minute cameo and even scored during the penalty shootout, which ended 8-7 in favour of Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Stockport County, who are currently fifth in League Two, are also keen on bringing Schluter to Edgeley Park. The third-tier side is looking to make a statement with a marquee signing and will hope to persuade the talented youngster to make the move to Greater Manchester. Schluter’s standout performance in the FA Youth Cup, where he scored twice against Stockport, has strengthened their interest.

Yet To Appear For Blackpool

Schluter has yet to make a further appearance for Blackpool’s first team since his debut, and with the club struggling in 18th place in League One, two points clear of the relegation zone, the youngster’s future at Bloomfield Road remains uncertain. However, the interest from Fulham and Stockport demonstrates that Schluter’s future could be set for a major step up, with both clubs offering him potential first-team opportunities.

Fulham’s strong position in the Premier League under Silva contrasts with Blackpool’s current predicament, and Stockport’s promotion push in League One could make them an attractive option for the teenager. With clubs of varying stature now vying for his signature, the coming weeks could be pivotal in determining Schluter’s next career move.

The interest in Gabriel Schluter from both Premier League and League One clubs highlights the growing recognition of his potential.
