Lincoln City Striker Makes Championship Role Admission

Lincoln City striker Bailey Cadamarteri, on loan from Sheffield Wednesday, is making the most of his loan spell.

The 19-year-old striker has admitted he is determined to return to Hillsborough ready to secure a place in the Owls’ first team.

Building Momentum at Lincoln City

Cadamarteri, who played a crucial role in Wednesday’s promotion campaign last season, joined Lincoln on a season-long loan to gain valuable experience. His performances have drawn praise from Lincoln boss Michael Skubala, who sees the youngster as a rapidly improving talent. Speaking to The Star, Cadamarteri outlined his ambitions:

“The reason I’ve come here is to help Lincoln and to help myself, it’s an important step in my career. I want to be a Sheffield Wednesday player and I’ve come here to put myself in good stead to be a Sheffield Wednesday player next year. The more starts, the more games I can get under my belt, the more goals I can get and the more experience I can get onto my CV, the better off I’ll be.”

Lincoln’s playing style and philosophy were key factors in the decision to send Cadamarteri on loan to the Imps. Both the club and player viewed it as a perfect match to aid his development. He remains in close communication with Sheffield Wednesday’s coaching staff, including head coach Danny Röhl and youth coach Neil Thompson, ensuring his progress is closely monitored.

Learning and Growing

Cadamarteri is embracing the challenges of adapting to a new club and style of play. He acknowledges the importance of learning under different managerial approaches, noting that it enhances his tactical understanding and versatility. Reflecting on his time at Lincoln, he said:

“I’ve come here to play games and get starts, that’s something I can build on because I might not have started as many games as I might have wanted to but it’s coming together and I’m enjoying it. I’ve got five now and so I’ve equalled last season’s tally already, so hopefully I can build on that and get a lot more.”

With the second half of the season still to come, Cadamarteri is focused on continuing his development and returning to Sheffield Wednesday stronger, more experienced, and ready to compete for the coveted number nine role.
