Leeds United Concern Revealed On International Duty

Leeds United star Brenden Aaronson did not make the United States squad for their match against Jamaica yesterday and it has been revealed why he was absent.

The midfielder has started 13 times in the Championship this season and has featured in every one of The Whites’ games in the competition. It his first season back at Elland Road after being loaned out to German Bundesliga Union Berlin for the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign

Aaronson Seperate From Squad

Upon the announcement of the lineups for the first of the USA’s two-legged match against Jamaica this international break, Mauricio Pochettino’s men confirmed that the former RB Salzburg player was in St Louis rather than with the team in Kingston.

The statement on the official website read:

“Aaronson experienced flu-like symptoms and did not travel to Jamaica. He is currently in St. Louis and will be joined by the team tomorrow.”

He has played 46 times for his nation and will hope he can add to that tally by the time the second leg starts on the 18th of November.

Leeds are short in their midfield options with multiple blows to both attacking and defensive players in the department. Over recent weeks winger Largie Ramazani and Joe Gelhardt both out for some time.

Other international concerns for Daniel Farke come in the form of Junior Firpo, who will have a short turn over between his return and Leeds’ next game, which he is fortunately suspended for.

Writer’s View

It is a slight concern to see Brendan Aaronson be out of action with illness but with nine days left until their season continues with a trip to Swansea City, it will be likely he will recover in time to play in that game. This absence could even be seen as a benefit for the Yorkshire side as it can keep him fresh and somewhat fit and minimises his risk of a physical injury when he returns to Elland Road next week.
