Luca Koleosho could be reunited with former manager Vincent Kompany at German giants Bayern Munich – but a potential deal requires one condition to be met.
The Italian youth international has been one of Burnley‘s bright stars in this season as he filled the space left by the outgoing Wilson Odobert, who joined Tottenham Hotspur, and Anass Zaroury in August.
Kompany Comes Calling
According to German journalist Florian Plettenburg, Kompany is looking at his former club for potential future moves, with Koleosho named as a potential replacement for one of Bayern’s three first-team wingers.
Leroy Sane, ex-West Bromwich Albion player Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman’s contracts are all expiring within the next three years, with the former Manchester City man’s up at the end of this season. Plettenburg has said that one of these wingers will definitely leave next summer as Munich look to free up wage space within the squad.
Kompany has been a long-term believer in Koleosho, with the Premier League winning captain handing his debut for the Clarets in the first of 15 appearances he has in the top flight. He left for Bavaria this summer as they sought to reclaim their Bundesliga crown following Bayer Leverkusen’s impeccable season.
Scott Parker has come in and kept the faith with the 20-year-old, handing him 14 appearances out of a possible 15 in the Championship and he has scored twice in those games.
Writer’s View
It’s very common to see former managers look to try and poach his former players at a new club. Luca Koleosho undoubtedly has the talent to thrive at the top of European football and it seems that Vincent Kompany wants to add him to one of the best sides on the continent. A move for him will have to come with a sizable fee but for the Italian it will give him the opportunity to work with world class players like Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala.
