Leeds United have learnt how long summer signing Largie Ramazani will be out after he was forced off against Watford.
The Belgian winger has had a good start to life at Elland Road but went down with an ankle injury in the 2-1 win over The Hornets. Tottenham Hotspur loanee Manor Solomon came on in his place just 14 minutes into the contest.
Worst Case Scenario Avoided
Daniel Farke revealed the news ahead of The Whites’ game against Bristol City as Daniel Farke’s side look to keep in touch with top side Sunderland. (Quotes via Yorkshire Post)
“Sadly (it’s) bad news with him, he twisted his ankle in the last game.
“Sadly it’s a serious ligament injury and he will be out for four to six weeks.
“The best case scenario is the end of November but it could be December.
“Thank God we’ve got Daniel James and Manor Solomon but it’s good to have options and that I still have the chance to pick one.”
Both Welsh international James and Solomon have recovered from knocks recently and it was the latter’s second appearance from the club since September.
New Signing Available
The other big news for Leeds fans going into the clash is that free-agent signing Joshua Guilavogui is available to face Liam Manning’s side. The Frenchman was most recently at Mainz but has been without a club since the summer.
He joins as Max Wober, Ilia Gruev and captain Ethan Ampadu are all confined to the injury bench, leaving United short in defence. Of those three, Farke revealed he expected Wober to be back training the soonest, hoping he could return before the November international break.
Writer’s View
With Leeds’ injury troubles this season, whilst it certainly isn’t ideal, the news that Largie Ramazani has avoided needing surgery is a positive. The winger has looked a real promising talent for the club and for him only to miss a fairly short period considering the depth the club has is ideal. Combined with the progress Max Wober is making to recover from his issues, the tide seems to be finally turning in the right direction for Daniel Farke.
