Newly promoted Leicester City have entered into talks with West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberan, according to the Leicester Mercury.
The Foxes are currently looking for a replacement for ex-boss Enzo Maresca, who left for Chelsea at the beginning of the week following the dismissal of Mauricio Pocchetino. It is said that they have entered into talks with the Spaniard, with some reports claiming that Leicester could get their man for an initial £4 million compensation fee.
West Brom finished fifth in the Championship this seaso, earning themselves a place in the play-offs, but missed out on a return to the Premier League as they were knocked out by overall winners Southampton at the semi-final stage. Corberan achieved a 41% win ratio this season, which has also caught the attention of recently relegated Burnley.
The East Midlands club won the league under Maresca and secured an immediate return to the Premier League. It could be that sort of leverage that Leicester could use to land their man as a chance at managing in the top tier awaits whoever takes charge at the King Power Stadium.
They are currently awaiting the findings of a Profit and Sustainability rules check that could see them potentially receive either a points deduction or a fine.
Under the ex-Huddersfield Town boss, the Baggies were third in the form table for goals conceded and second only to Leeds United on clean sheets. They also managed to score 70 goals in the process.
As well as Corberan, the Foxes are also looking at Steve Cooper, although his connections to rivals Nottingham Forest could well stand in the way of any move. Other options include OH Leuven boss Oscar Garcia and ex-Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy. who was previously boss of PSV Eindhoven.

Corberan would be an extremely clever bit of business from the board at the King Power Stadium and his defensive credentials speak for themselves. As the Premier League is so tough, that could prove to be a key factor in Leicester surviving the drop next season.
With a shortlist of Cooper, Van Nistelrooy, Graham Potter and Garcia, the Foxes have been very busy and any of those bosses could be a possibility. The fact talks have begun with Corberan though would say this is probably quite likely to happen.
