Top Five Goals From Cowley Era Lincoln City

Nathan Arnold v Ipswich Town

It could be argued this was the goal that started it all. Having got past Guiseley in the qualifying round (via a replay), City beat Altrincham and League One Oldham to set up a lucrative third-round tie. After getting a draw against Ipswich at Portman Road, the replay felt like a cup final. It ended in sensational fashion, after the Imps cleared an Ipswich free kick. The goal is iconic – the break by Adam Marriott, the perfect pass, the way Nathan Arnold glides past the defence, twists and turns without touching the ball before taking a touch to fool the keeper. Poetry in motion.
