Wing has been on the books at Adams Park since January 2022 after signing on a permanent deal from Middlesborough and has gone on to play 53 times in all competitions for the Chairboys, with the 27-year-old going on to score ten goals and registering five assists.
In this current campaign, Wing has come up with eight goals and four assists as Wycombe currently occupy seventh in the League One table, three points behind Bolton Wanderers who sit in the final play-off place.
The 27-year-old played in the club’s previous fixture in the league, with Wing involved for the full 90 minutes as Wycombe ran out 2-0 winners away from home against Joey Barton’s Bristol Rovers.
Wing had previously played 92 games for Middlesborough in the Championship, scoring 12 goals and assisting eight times in all competitions before eventually joining Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent transfer after previous loan spells away at the likes of Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday.

I’m personally not surprised that there is interest amongst Championship clubs for Wycombe’s Lewis Wing. I think if he was to move in the summer to one of those Championship sides mentioned, I think it will be a decent pick-up for whoever gets him.
There is also still a chance that Wycombe could keep hold of him as the club are still very much in the hunt for a play-off place. If Wycombe was to claim a spot in the playoffs and they end up winning it, there is every chance that Wing could potentially stay.
However, Wing certainly thinks he’s good enough to be playing in the second division and by looking at some of the stats, mainly during his time at Middlesborough, it certainly proves that he is more than good enough to make the step.
