Off the back of his move to Aldershot Town, we had the chance to put a few questions to the frontman about his time in football & what Shots fans can expect from their new man.
Firstly I want to thank Jack for taking the time to answer my questions! Over the last two seasons with Maidstone United he’s been on what would be the best run of his career but has decided to switch Kent for Hampshire for this season’s run-in to boost his hopes of staying in the National League for next season.
As such is the nature of non-league, since joining the Shots, Barham has already made two appearances coming on as a sub in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Maidenhead before making his full debut on Saturday as the Shots came out 2-1 winners away at Southend.

It would be harsh to point out that the striker is still yet to register a goal for his new club but I’m sure he will be chomping at the bit to get off the mark for his new club as most strikers are, I’m sure Aldershot fans will be hoping it’s a case of once one goes in the flood gates open for their new man.
Lets see what Aldershot new boy had to say when questioned after his move.
Q: Biggest achievement in football so far?
JB: “For me it has to be winning the National South, one of the best feelings I’ve had in football so far!”
Q: Who was your idol growing up?
JB: “Jermain Defoe, I’m a spurs fan so watching him growing up is why he’s my idol”
Q: Worst moment in your career?
JB: “I’d probably say the way things ended at Barnet, not gonna go into full detail but it wasn’t ideal for me.”
Q: Who or what made you fall in love with Football?
JB: “I’d say my Dad, he’s taken me all over the country to play football and now all that hard work and endless amount of hour’s travelling it’s paying off.”
Q: From the players you’ve played with build me your ultimate 6 aside team?
JB: “Tom Hadler ( GK ), Dan Sweeney, Joe Ward, Jack Taylor, Juan Luque, Danny Mills”
Q: If you could pick any player past or present to partner you up front who would it be?
JB: “Wayne Rooney”
Q: What’s your favourite goal you’ve scored?
JB: “This one’s very hard! I’d say the one that stands out the most for me is my Debut goal for Barnet”
Q: Best Player you’ve played with?
JB: “I’m gonna say Juan Luque on the fact I’ve been with him for a full season”
Q: Favourite moment with the Stones?
JB: “The moment we finally got the job done and won the league.”
Q: If you could relive any moment during your time at the club (Maidstone) just once which would it be & why?
JB: “Gotta be beating Dartford in front of a packed Gallagher stadium! Not only did I score a hat trick but it was against a manager who basically let me go.”
Q: Maidstone on paper is where you have played your best football was there anything behind your success with the club?
JB: “For me it was just pure hard work. I knew I had it in the locker but it was about full expressing myself.”
Q: Any final words for the Stones fans?
JB: “Thankyou for all the good time! I hope I got you off your feet and gave you many good memories while I was at the football club!
I wish you all the best for the future.”
Q: What can the Shots fans expect from you?
JB: “Lots of goals, Hard work and Passion”
Q: Why Aldershot, what attracted you to this historic club?
JB: “Aldershot showed me interest for a very long time and they pushed and pushed to get me and for me that’s what I want as a player. Having a club who believes in your ability and shows really intent. Aldershot was the club for me.”
Q: If you was to liken yourself to any player past or present who would it be & why?
JB: “I’d say my idol Jermain Defoe, he’s light on he’s feet, fox in the box and clinical in the right moments.”
Q: Any final words for the Shots fans?
JB: “Get behind us right until the end of the season and let’s make next season one to remember 🔴🔵”
