League One club Portsmouth have placed all contract decisions on hold to give new manager John Mousinho time to assess the squad, according to The Portsmouth News.
The club currently have thirteen players with deals expiring this summer, five of which have the club option to extend deals by an extra year.
Mousinho continues to assess his squad, which he inherited from former boss Danny Cowley, with suggestions of players leaving, such as defender Sean Raggett.
It is not thought to affect the process of ongoing talks with former Charlton man Jay Mingi, with the club hopeful they can hold on to the midfielder, with reported interest from Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
The other players with deals expiring this summer include the likes of Ronan Curtis, Clark Robertson, Ryan Tunnicliffe, Connor Ogilvie, Louis Thompson, Michael Jacobs and Josh Oluwayemi.
Three of the players that were mentioned above are part of the five which the club do have a one-year extension option.
As for Mingi, there are still doubts lingering over the player’s future, plenty of Championship clubs were sniffing around in January for the 22-year-old but no move materialised, it remains to be seen whether he will remain on the South Coast, but a new deal on the table has still not been signed with Portsmouth making no progress in retaining the player.
With his deal set to expire at the end of the season and no deal accepted thus far, it looks more and more certain that Mingi sees his future outside of Fratton Park following his breakthrough season this year.

With Mousinho being new to the role, it is a wise decision for the club to decide to put a hold on their plans for players. Pompey operates under a sporting director, so it is positive to see the club leave these decisions to their manager, especially as there is still players yet to be given an opportunity to impress the new manager.
As for the future of Jay Mingi, he is one player who the club must be making a priority, enjoying a breakthrough season but is yet to make his mark on goal for the team, but if they show some faith in him, he is a player who can certainly repay that faith they store.
Portsmouth fans, how many of the players with expiring contracts would you keep at the club? Is this a wise decision?
