Another Swindon managerial Candidate has emerged in the form of Irishman Stephen Rice who is Ireland’s chief scout and opposition analyst according to the Irish Independent
Swindon are without a manager after Scott Lindsey departed for fellow League Two club Crawley Town after their defeat at the hands of Colchester leaving the club to begin the hunt for a new manager. Many others have said to be interviewed, but this latest news coming out today is linking another name.
Stephen spent the whole of his playing career in Ireland making appearances for clubs such as Shamrock Rovers and Longford Town. He then moved into the Ireland coaching setup as the Head of Academy Coaching. After this, he became a youth coach at Shamrock rovers before moving on to become a development coach at the Crystal Palace academy. He left the role in 2021 and has since been Ireland’s chief scout and opposition analyst.
The 38-Year-Old holds a UEFA Pro license coaching qualification and has plenty of experience in the Irish setup which could be very important for The Robins moving into the second half of the season.

Stephen would be a pretty unknown appointment for Swindon, he has some experience in the Irish setup. He has a good record of working in academies and developing talent something that Swindon has said to have looked for in the past.
I think this could potentially be a fun appointment but they may be better options available to the club with more experience in England.
Swindon fans, Would you be happy with this managerial appointment?
