Peterborough United Transfer Targets Revealed

Peterborough United are hoping to make a move for full-back Ethan Birstow and forward Javon Malcolm according to The Peterborough Telegraph

Birstow joined League Two club Tranmere Rovers in the summer but has been a regular in the starting 11 at Prenton Park. His performances so far this season could be the reason Posh see him as a solid option for this window.

It is no secret that posh are in the market for a full-back as The Real EFL’s Ryan Whelan revealed earlier today in an exclusive article. Swindon Town have held talks over current defender Joe Tomlinson. The Posh defender fell down the pecking order under his previous boss Grant McCann.

Peterborough are also looking to add firepower to their frontline as they hope to make the League One play-offs. They have identified Javon Malcolm as a possible target, the deal would be a loan move from his parent club West Brom.

United face stiff competition as fellow promotion hopefuls Bolton and Barnsley have also highlighted Malcolm as a possible option. The in-demand frontman spent time on loan at Accrington Stanley for the first half of last season.

Writer’s view…

In my opinion, both players would be great additions to Peterborough’s squad and could help them manage a top 6 finish. On the other hand, the deals rely on other factors like Tranmere letting Birstow leave only 6 months into his 2-year deal and if Posh can fight off the competition and win the race for Malcolm.
