League One Clubs Set To Battle It Out For Blades Star

Oxford United and Burton Albion are set to battle it out once again for Blades striker Will Osula according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Both clubs were interested in the Danish youngster when he was available in the summer before he joined Derby County on loan.

The decision was made this week to recall Osula from his loan spell. Sheffield United will be assessing the player over the next few weeks before deciding on his future for the remainder of this season.

Osula featured 16 times for the Rams in League One this year, many of which as an unused substitute, and while he struggled to find the net in the league, he did score three in three in the FA Cup.

Both teams are struggling in the league and need a striker within their ranks, Oxford United sit 14th with one win in six. While Burton Albion sits 21st with two wins in their previous ten in the league.

Both clubs hopes of signing could be damaged if he was to feature at Sheffield United, as he would be unable to feature a third club this season.

A Key Signing

Our view is that Osula could be a key signing for both clubs, should they sign him. Oxford are missing a lethal striker, with their top scorer Cameron Brannagan finding the net eight times in all competitions. He would be a much-needed addition to their team.

Meanwhile, Osula’s minutes for Burton Albion could depend on the future of Victor Adeboyejo attracting interest, following his goalscoring exploits this season. Should the Brewers main man leave, Osula would earn a lot more minutes.

Which move would be best for Osula? Could he help either of these clubs this season?
