Community

Ipswich Town is broken. The club and the fans are separate and football without fans is nothing. Ipswich have seen protests outside the training ground and a slow and painful collapse of the once-proud club. well, Danny and Nicky Cowley could rebuild that. They are community managers, interacting with the fans, local businesses and schools like never before. They often tell the story of walking into Lincoln, looking around Sincil Bank and dreaming one day of filling it. At the time, The Imps averaged fewer than 3,000 fans per week, but within a year they hit five figures. Also, the pair are from the south-east, they are almost local boys and they understand the culture and community as well as anyone, having once taught at the FitzWimarc School just over 50 miles away. They are the men to awaken the sleeping giant of Ipswich, to reconnect the club and its fans and to do it by winning games of football.
Just don’t tell James Wilson though – he signed for Lincoln on a two-and-a-half year deal, but never settled and eventually left without impressing either Cowley brother.
