Ipswich Town have been dealt a blow as striker James Norwood is ruled out for at least six weeks with injury, as reported by their official site.
The former Tranmere Rovers striker is expected to be out for at least a month and a half, which is a setback for the Blues, who sit top of the table with three wins from three.
Norwood hasn’t been amongst the goals, but he has made five outings for Paul Lambert’s side, leaving them just five days to find a replacement ahead of the transfer window closing. The injury might be a blow, but it isn’t as bad as the club first feared according to Lee O’Neill.
Fellow striker Aaron Drinan also remains on the sidelines with a thigh injury whilst Kayden Jackson is only just returning to training after also being out injured. That comes despite the solid start to the season, with three consecutive 2-0 victories under their belt against Wigan, Bristol Rovers and Rochdale.
This weekend, the Tractor Boys travel to face struggling MK Dons who are third from bottom, but they do so without Norwood, who scored 11 times in 28 League One fixtures last season. He isn’t the only player on an injury list that seems to grow by the day though and that is something concerning these Blues fans on social media.
