Timothy ‘TJ’ Eyoma has signed for League One side Lincoln City on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, as reported by the club’s official site.
The 20-year-old right-back initially first joined the club in January but was unable to get game time, partly due to the pandemic kicking in. He has appeared for the Spurs first team, making his competitive debut for Spurs in the Emirates FA Cup against Tranmere Rovers last season, as well as appearing on the bench for Tottenham in the Premier League on a number of occasions.
Eyoma also appeared England at youth level up to Under-19s, Winning the Under 17 2017 FIFA World Cup in 2017, as well as reaching the UEFA European Under-17 Championship final.
On his return to the LNER Stadium Eyoma said, “I’m delighted to return. I learnt a lot last season despite not playing, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to come here again.”
“Michael likes to develop young players, and this is a reason why I wanted to return. I feel like I’ll play games which will develop me further as a player, and hopefully, my ability can contribute towards the team. I can’t wait to get going.”
Imps manager Michael Appleton, who secured the services of Lima Bridcutt last week, said: “We are delighted to have TJ back with us. He was very unfortunate not to get some game time before we had to stop due to the pandemic. He’s a very strong and aggressive athlete, but also very comfortable on the ball. He’ll be a great addition to the squad.”
Lincoln fans have now seen six new players arrive at the club; James Jones, Conor McGrandles, Ethan Ross, Lewis Montsma, Liam Bridcutt and Eyoma, as well as youngster Sean Roughan signing a new deal. Although supporters didn’t see a lot of Eyoma last season, other than in the stands, they seem happy to have him back at the club.

Don’t think Spurs would have sent him back if weren’t at least assurances on play time! Great signing for me, clearly highly thought of and knows the systems and Appleton methodology.

Was ahead of Tanganga who’s playing for our first team now until a recent injury! Hope he smashes it this season
