Bradford City have released Chris Taylor after his short term deal expired.
In a short statement, the Bantams said; ‘The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Taylor for his efforts and services this season’. He joined under former manager Gary Bowyer, making 15 appearances. Bowyer had previously worked with Taylor at Blackpool and Blackburn, but his initials attempt to sign the 33-year-old floundered.
The experienced campaigner signed for the Bantams on a short-term deal, but an appearance for Barrow as a trialist in an FA Lancashire Cup tie means his eligibility was in doubt. That obstacle was eventually overcome, allowing him to be part of the Bantams squad that pushed towards a play-off spot.
The former Millwall, Bolton and Blackburn winger had been without a club following his release by Blackpool in the summer. At the time of his arrival, fans of his former employers believed the Bantams had ‘dodged a bullet‘, but despite no excelling for Bradford, he does seem to have left something of an impression on a couple of fans, as you’ll see below.
