Tranmere Rovers have suddenly hit form at the right time of the season to give their fans hope of a great escape from League One relegation.
Last night’s hard-fought 2-1 win at Blackpool made it three wins on the bounce, all achieved away from Prenton Park and left many club’s who thought they were safe nervously looking over their shoulder.
First-half goals from Morgan Ferrier and James Vaughan were enough to see Micky Mellon’s men over the line despite a second-half rally by Blackpool which saw Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall smash in a twenty-five-yard screamer.
Liam Feeney missed two good chances for the Seasiders late on, leaving new boss Neil Critchley still waiting for his first win.
Nearly 1000 travelling fans jubilantly greeted the final whistle, and the latest win is sparking dreams of League One survival. Many fans took to social media to react to the result and were quick to praise boss Micky Mellon for the dramatic turnaround. Mellon had been under-pressure with many fans calling for his sacking after his side took root in the relegation places, but all now seems happy at Prenton Park.
Here is a selection of responses to the result from ecstatic Tranmere fans on Twitter.
Brilliant. This is why we kept faith in Micky

Given that the officials said 5 extra minutes, and the ref played over 7 extra minutes, that was another good win.
