‘Not a particularly inspiring signing,’ ‘Give the lad a chance,’ – These Walsall fans react to news of latest loan addition

Fleetwood Town midfielder Nathan Sheron has signed for League Two outfit Walsall on loan until the end of the season.

The versatile twenty-two-year-old played thirty-three times for League One Fleetwood last term but has fallen down the pecking order at Highbury this season, making only one EFL Trophy appearance in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool under-21s back in September.

Sheron, who can play in defence or midfield, came through the ranks at Fleetwood to make his full league debut in 2018. He’s enjoyed three previous loan spells at Chorley, Chester and Stockport during his fledgeling career.

Walsall are now finding their feet in League Two after last season’s relegation. After a slow start under manager Darrell Clarke, they have lost just twice in eleven games to move up to twelfth in the table, a mere eight points from the final playoff position.

There is little doubt Sheron will join a side growing in confidence after winning four of the last six and most fans appeared happy when they took to social media to react to the signing.

Those fans that were negative were generally shot down by those slowly starting to believe in Clarke and the team and also some Fleetwood fans who would gladly take Sheron back.

Here is a small slection of responses to news of the signing on Twitter.
