  • 2nd prediction: Over 2.5 goals in the game
  • 3rd prediction: Both teams to score – No

1st prediction for Harrogate Town vs Walsall: Walsall to win – 3/4

This is a huge game in League Two at both ends of the table. Walsall are looking good for promotion after last season’s almost unthinkable capitulation, while Harrogate are fighting the drop. Form is fairly similar though; Walsall have had a bit of a dip while Harrogate’s injury crisis has seen them slide down the table with five losses in six.

Many expected Walsall to go up this season after last year, and they are roughly matching expectations. They have drooped off with three losses in four and are at risk of dropping out of the top three. A win here would help them get back on track, and they have to be favourites despite being the visitors.

Harrogate have been arguably punching above their weight in League Two for a while, always seeming to stay up despite relegation struggles. This season is no different, with the Yorkshire side perilously close to the drop zone. This in part due to their selection issues, which as really dragged them down. With those factors in mind, they are strong underdogs here.

2nd prediction for Harrogate Town vs Walsall: Over 2.5 goals in the game – 21/20

This is likely to be an incredibly entertaining game, with both sides having plenty to play for.

Added to that the context of the game, with Walsall flying high and Harrogate’s depleted squad really struggling, and all the ingredients for a cracker are there. Walsall haven’t actually been that good going forward, but Harrogate’s issues look likely to give them a chance to increase their goal difference. Harrogate have been leaky of late and will struggle to rotate, so tired legs and a team bang out of form may give Walsall even more opportunities than normal while struggling to score themselves.

The home side do however have nothing to lose, so they may attack more despite the quality Walsall have. If that’s the case, the Saddlers will pick them off on the break and it could get ugly for the hosts.

3rd prediction for Harrogate Town vs Walsall: Both teams to score – No – 17/20

This is a prediction which is mainly based on the previous one, taking into account the context of the match. The two sides have very different squads with varying depth, though both are struggling for form. It is however more likely that the away side will turn that form around in this game, with Harrogate up against it as they look to get a much needed win..

With both sides looking over their shoulders – Walsall at the play offs and Harrogate at the bottom two -, a win here is crucial. The high stakes and poor form of both sides make this an exciting encounter to look ahead to.

Full preview of the game: last results and head to head

This is a massive game at this stage of the season as the two teams look to arrest their difficult runs and avoid dropping down the table.. That applies particularly for Walsall, who will have the promotion places on their mind. A losss and other results against them could see them drop out of the top two, and the same for Harrogate may see them into the bottom two. The home side have been in less strong form, with no wins in six, though a victory here would put them back on track. Whatever happens, there’s plenty riding on this one.
